This is a nice portrait! However I think the the paint lacks a little bit in contrast.
You have some nice soft shading and edges, so what you need a few sharper strokes around the focal point to give the portrait some interest. Also I think the current tone is nice, you could probably introduce some blue into she shadows and maybe yellowy gold in highlights on skin.
